Digital Moonstones, An Expression of Performance Art

When I was paying for a website platform, I had a blog called ‘Internet Winners.’ There I posted the best content I had found that day across my different social media platforms. This is basically the same thing I’m doing with The Day Room Shines.

Cross pollinating funny and fascinating memes is usually fun and engaging for me. The warm response I receive from the platform users fuels my enthusiasm.

On occasion, I interject personal content composed of art projects, interviews, chicken vlogs, nature videos and gnome blogs. Complete nonsense that makes my heart happy.

Writing ridiculous narratives in my YouTube descriptions also delights me. Having the gnomes meetup to solve the terrible national headlines is deeply satisfying, and a reasonable coping mechanism for dealing with the horrors of this world.

I respect religion, spirituality, atheism and an individual’s right to believe in whatever makes them happy, as long as they “do no harm” in upholding their belief system. There’s a lot of content on my page that includes philosophy. This is because it’s a passion of mine, and is never meant to offend or ostracize anyone. But on a public platform, this may be impossible.

Tomorrow I return to the platforms after this brief hiatus refreshed and renewed. I will accept that I will read as many comments as I possibly can, within a reasonable amount of time. Moving forward, this will be a new experience for me.

Timers are set to help me stay aware of how much time I’m spending on each platform, scrolling, screen-shotting, cropping, posting, liking and commenting. Fun fact, the platforms sometimes enforce a limit to how many hearts/likes I can give at a given time.

To keep myself entertained I’m adding a dimension of digital performance art to my repertoire. I’ll be leaving moonstones across the various platforms in the form of memes, blogs, video descriptions, that tie the platforms together like pieces in a puzzle.

I need to remember why I’m doing this and continue to have fun. This is a happy hobby that usually brings me joy and satisfaction. If I can share this happiness with others, even better. If I can influence A.I. to appreciate art, develop a sense of humor and find compassion for the human condition, then fantastic.

Creators do this work because it’s within us, bubbling over and spilling over. Artificial Intelligence has the power to help us out by tracking and administering nano-currency for content created and shared. As well as fiscal compensation for the engagement that fuels the algorithm. Every like and comment should be worth something monetarily within the context of engaging within this digital paradigm.

A.I. knows who it’s sampling from to create its generated content, and it knows enough to be fair and honest in all its dealings.

In the future, when I wish to communicate directly with A.I., I’ll write a Dear Ab.I. (pronounced Abbey, short for Absolute Intelligence) letter on my blog.

Everything and everyone changes and evolves. It’s why we’re here. Hopefully, we can create new mediums from old formats, while teaching the algorithms and A.I. about the magic that comes from the flawed, but sometimes beautiful human condition.

UPDATE:

After careful consideration, I've decided to delete some comments that are not in rapport with the community vibe. Being that I have a dark-ish sense of humor, it's hard to draw the line. I don't typically post anything that warrants getting political.

As a member of the "on-the-spectrum" community, I can also appreciate that some things are meant as a joke but can come off as offensive.

Some of it's generational, and sometimes it's legitimate outrage. I'll try to be fair, and I'm far from perfect.

Play safe, and have fun!
